April Showers Bring Pink May Flowers
May Wedding Love!
Hey everybody! Our wedding season here at DBG is off to a great start, and we’re so excited to see what the coming months have to offer. Even though as I write this I’m thinking, hmm, it’s June - kind of already the middle of the year. Anyways… We’ve had several weddings so far (one of which was really special to us – Montana’s!…but more on that later:)
One of our recent weddings was done with lots of one of DBG’s favorite colors – pink! – It was everywhere all in different shades with purple stock and white hydrangeas included. All the light colors really stood out among the navy background with gold accents - I loved the contrast!

Tableful of arrangements ready to go...:) We got to use so many David Austin roses!

The bride’s bouquet was so lovely (my thoughts at least;) I love when we get to do a cascading style! It’s one of my favorite design shapes for a bouquet. This one was filled with garden roses, stock, tulips, hydrangeas, Queen Anne’s lace, elaeagnus, ruscus, and eucalyptus. And let me tell you – the thing was huge!! The bigger the better right?

Truly a blushing bride in this gorgeous dress, the pink flowers complemented the bridal party so well, and a hint of blue in the form of the hydrangeas really helped the colors pop!

We also used hand painted gold votives for each table that really stood out against the blue tablecloths. I usually get the fun task of painting things like candles, (I say with full sincerity;) and I always enjoy finding and coming up with new ways to paint along with different textures to use. Anytime you can make something a little different or put a personal touch, no matter how small, it always helps add to the uniqueness of your event.

For decorative touches outside, we made light and airy greenery wreaths made with ruscus and plumosa fern. That, combined with different candle heights and flower arrangements, made for a simple yet lovely collection.
I love how each wedding is so different from the previous, but one thing will always stay the same and that is how it’s all in the details! Every bride and groom has their own style, and it’s always important to let those reflections shine through in your wedding design. We loved working with Taylor and Chase for their big day and all the personal details that made their wedding so special.

Be on the lookout for our upcoming blogs about individual flowers we use in making arrangements. With each wedding there's always a new flower that I learn about and when it comes to the detailed information/backgrounds/interesting facts (how many /’s can I get in this sentence…) I always find out new things, so I’m going to take you on my journey of learning! Yay! I know how excited you are about that;)
